PLAYERS TO WATCH

A significant number of the players who play each year in the McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament go on to play ball in college. A good number of them find their careers extended, playing professional basketball in the NBA, WNBA or in Europe. It’s always fun to say, “I saw them first at the MTI.”

For the first time this year, we asked the coaches to send us the player or players to watch on their team…specifically, those being recruited by college programs across the country. As the teams play, you’d probably notice these players without our help, but we thought we’d make it easier by telling you in advance which players to watch. If there is a team not listed, it’s not that they don’t have great players. In the course of the ramp up to a busy season, we just didn’t hear from every coach. So, check out these lists.
